SASAWU UPDATE ON THE LATEST DEVELOPMENTS
As we promised our members in the OTP in June last year that their move to join this SAFTU affiliate in the name of SASAWU we will make sure that SAFTU will always be a their shield
Labour rejected the unilaterally nature to which the Employer proposed to changes to the conditions of service of the affected categories of Public Servants in respect of Performance bonuses. Labour further reminded the Employer about the critical and pivotal function of the PSCBC in so far as the matters of this nature are concerned, and accordingly demanded the immediate withdrawal of DPSA circular 1 of 2019 by no later than 1st March 2019.
In exactly eight (8) months ago the South African State and Allied Workers Union (SASAWU) invaded the Eastern Cape Provincial Head Quarters in Bhisho commonly known as the Office of the Premier or OPT. This South African Federation of Trade Union’s (SAFTU )affiliated public sector union, got to the Province to welcome to its ranks, staff members in the OTP who were members of NEHAWU, who had enough of the shenanigans’ of NEHAWU in their workplace and also the inability of COSATU to intervene on their behalf.
